# Getting started as an affiliate

> From account to first payout – create an account, add your sites, find programs, create links and follow your results.

As an affiliate you recommend stores on your sites, in your videos, posts or newsletters, and earn commission when a customer buys through your link. Everything happens in the affiliate dashboard at **app.affilyflow.com**. This page takes you through it in the order you meet it. If you are new to affiliate marketing, start with [become an affiliate](/en/become-an-affiliate), and see the open programs in the [program catalogue](/en/programs).

> [!NOTE]
> The affiliate dashboard is in Danish. On this page, buttons and menu items are given in Danish as they appear on screen, with an English translation the first time.

## 1. Create an account

1. Go to [app.affilyflow.com/signup](https://app.affilyflow.com/signup).
2. Enter your name, your email and a password of at least 8 characters.
3. Open the email from Affilyflow and press the link to confirm your email. The link expires after one hour – request a new one if it is too old.

Once you are signed in, you land on **Oversigt** (Overview). The menu is split into Overblik (Overview), Tjen penge (Earn), Kontakt (Contact) and Konto (Account).

> [!TIP]
> Choose a display name under **Indstillinger** (Settings). It is the name stores see. Without a display name they only see your AF number – never your name, email or bank details.

## 2. Add your sites

Open **Links → Mine sites** (My sites) and add the domains you promote on. Enter only the domain, e.g. `mysite.com` – without `https://`, `www` or a path.

You do not need to tag your links with a site. Affilyflow measures the site on every click from the page the click came from. A site you add therefore shows the clicks and sales that have already come from it straight away. Sites that send you clicks but that you have not added are listed as **Opdaget automatisk** (Discovered automatically), with a button to add them.

If you want to know exactly which page on the site sells, read [Page tracking](https://www.affilyflow.com/en/docs/affiliate/page-tracking).

## 3. Find programs

Open **Programmer** (Programs). Every program in the catalogue is open – there is no application, and the store does not have to approve you. Instead, each program has rules you must follow.

The program page shows what you need to choose:

| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Betaling (Payment) | Your commission – a percentage of the sale or a fixed amount per sale. The rate is what you get. |
| Cookie-varighed (Cookie duration) | How long after the click a purchase counts (the store chooses between 14 and 90 days). |
| Godkendelse af salg (Sale approval) | How many days pass before a sale is approved – 30, 45, 60 or 90. |
| Abonnementer (Subscriptions) | Whether you also earn commission on renewals, and for how many months. |
| Regler og kanaler (Rules and channels) | Allowed channels, paid search, coupon and cashback sites, and discount codes. |
| Retningslinjer (Guidelines) | The store's own requirements, written by the store. |

Under **Programmer → Produkter** (Products) you can search the stores' products with price, stock and an estimated commission per sale – and create a link straight to the product.

A program only appears in the catalogue once the store has set up its website and tracking is running. That way you know a sale through your link can be recorded.

## 4. Join a program

Press **Tilmeld program** (Join program) on the program page. You are in straight away, and the store is notified. Joining gives you your first link to the program.

Read the rules before you start – especially allowed channels, paid search and coupon sites. Breaking the rules can cost you the commission. See [Program rules](https://www.affilyflow.com/en/docs/affiliate/rules).

## 5. Create your links

Press **Opret link** (Create link) – on Oversigt, under Dine links (Your links) or under Værktøjer (Tools). Choose the program and, if you like, a specific page at the store. Under the extra fields you can set a sub-ID, channel and campaign.

When the link is ready you have two buttons:

- **Kopier link** (Copy link) – for social media, videos, emails and anywhere else you can only paste an address.
- **Kopier HTML** (Copy HTML) – for your own site. The HTML makes the browser send the exact page along, so you can see which article sells.

Everything about deep links, sub-IDs, campaigns and QR codes is in [Links and sub-IDs](https://www.affilyflow.com/en/docs/affiliate/links-and-sub-ids).

> [!NOTE]
> A discount code shared with all affiliates earns no commission on its own – it is the click on your link that credits you. Share the code together with the link. If the store has given you a personal discount code, it earns commission even without a click – see [Program rules](https://www.affilyflow.com/en/docs/affiliate/rules#discount-codes).

## 6. Follow your results

Under **Resultater** (Results) there are three tabs:

- **Overblik** (Summary) – clicks, sales and commission for the period, split by store, source, sub-ID, device and country.
- **Klik & salg** (Clicks & sales) – every click with the page the link was on, the source, the landing page at the store and the sale it may have led to.
- **Salg** (Sales) – every sale with status, amount, commission and the click's full trail.

**Links → Placeringer** (Placements) shows your pages with clicks, sales and earnings per page.

How clicks and sales are counted:

- The commission and the cookie window are locked the moment someone clicks. A store that lowers its rate later does not affect earlier clicks.
- One visit is one click: if the same visitor clicks your links to the same program several times within 30 minutes, it counts once.
- Clicks on your own links while you are signed in to app.affilyflow.com do not count. You can see them as **Dine testklik** (Your test clicks) under Klik & salg.
- Known bots and clicks from cloud servers do not count as clicks. The customer is always sent on to the store.

A new sale is **Afventer** (Pending). The store can reject it with a reason within the program's approval period – for example after a return. If the store does not reject it, the sale is approved automatically once the period has passed. The sale detail shows the date.

## 7. Get paid

Approved commission is paid out automatically on the first banking day of the month once you have at least DKK 100 available – or when you press **Udbetal nu** (Pay out now). Before the first payout, fill in your bank details and personal details under **Udbetaling** (Payout) and accept the self-billing agreement.

## Use your AI assistant

You can connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor to your account and let the assistant find programs, check the rules, create links and fetch your numbers. See [MCP server](https://www.affilyflow.com/en/docs/affiliate/mcp). If you are building something yourself, use the [REST API](https://www.affilyflow.com/en/docs/affiliate/rest-api).
